large amount of property from the of the said , and agreed to settle upon the said the said property or other property together its reasonable increase.
And that the aforesaid several conveyances by said Joseph Smith deceased to said or by other persons to said when procured to be made by said Smith deceased, were made by said Smith in execution of his trust towards Respondant and to settle the property so received by said Smith deceased as aforesaid, of said ’s and was not made to hinder, delay or defraud the creditors of the said Joseph Smith deceased, that they cannot state the amount of property so received as aforesaid by said Jo. Smith deceased but are informed and believe and so state the truth to be that said Smith deceased so received from the Father of said about the sum of five hundred dollars.
Respondants further say that the said and are married women and said is an infant under twenty one years of age.
Respondants , , and are infants and in consideration of the premises pray the Court if in anything they shall in this answer fail fully to protect their respective legal or equitable rights and interests that the Court will protect the same fully.
Respondants further say that they have no other or further claim to said premises in said bill mentioned than as aforesaid within their knowledge or belief,
And that they know nothing of the claims of other persons to said premises in said bill mentioned either how much or what part or by what tenor they hold the same except as before stated,
That they nothing about tax titles accruing on said premises except as herein before stated.
Respondant admits that the
N 1/2 of the N. W. qr. of sec. 4, Township 2 S. R. 8 West; also the
North West qr. of the N. E. qr of [sec.] 4 [Township] 2 [S. R.] 8 [West]; [also the]
W 1/2 of the S 1/2 of the N. W. qr. [of sec.] 4 [Township] 2 [S. R.] 8 [West]; and also
12 poles and five feet East and West and 12 poles North and South in the N. W. corner of the South West qr. of the N.E. qr. of said section No. 4, was on the 29th. day of September A.D. 1841, conveyed to her by one and by deed of that date to her and that afterwards she conveyed the same to Joshua Ward, for a valuable consideration in good faith.
Respondant further admits that she has been informed and believes that she once signed a paper purporting to be a deed of said premises to her husband, Joseph Smith deceased in his lifetime [p. 522]
